Kama Sutra

Maharishi Vatsyayana is the Indian sage who developed the ancient system for sex that many of us today know as the Kama Sutra. Kama Sutra is traditionally known as the Kama Shastra, the science of love, which is an Indian text that was written on human’s behavior sexually. Kama means desire and Sutra signifies a thread and was the standard term for s technical text. Vatsyayana Kamasutram, or Vatsyayana’s Aphorisms on love, is the original name of the text.


It has been said the author of the sexual writings was actually celibate and it was believed that he lived between the 1st to the 6th centuries AD. Today the Kama Sutra is available in many forms from books to sexual aids. Each of the seven parts, in the thirty-six chapters of the Kama Sutra, were written by individuals who were all experts in their respective fields. These chapters help couples put their current situation into perspective and helps them to see where love should be in their relationship. Part two of the Kama Sutra, Amorous Advances, gets more in-depth. In these chapters you can learn such things as how to caress your partner and how to create erotic desire. You will learn about biting lovingly and the various types of turn ons to drive your partner over the edge. These chapters go over various sexual position and talk about orgasms, menage a trois, anal sex and paraphila.

Once you are sexually aware of your surroundings and have tapped into the many ways of sexual pleasure, it is time to turn your sights on part three: Acquiring a wife. Now that you have her and have married her, she can get some advise from part four of the Kama Sutra. Part four only consists of two chapters. These chapters go over the proper conduct of a wife or duties and privileges if you will. Man will be around many different wives from day to day and only one of them will be his but these chapters help you to understand the position of the Chief wife and others wives he will come in contact with. Part five continues on the wife topic and consists of six chapters. Part five: Other Men’s Wives covers topics on the behavior of a man and a woman. These chapters go over on how to handle encounters and how to get aquatinted with the opposite sex. You will also get to examine different sentiments and how to understand them. The last two chapters in part five of the Kama Sutra cover the Kings pleasures and behavior in Gynoecium.

As we wind down to the last 2 parts of the Kama Sutra, we cover parts six and seven. Part six, About Courtesans, is six chapters long and covers ways to find a steady lover. You can try renewing a long lost flame or friendship with a former lover or you can get advice on how to search for a steady lover. These chapters offer much advice on relationships and how to get them started and where to look for your mate. Part seven is made up of two chapters and is the final part of the Kama Sutra. This part touches base on the occult and ways you can improve your love life with the use of herbs, aphrodisiacs, bewitchment and spells. Kamasutra acts a great healer also if understood well and practised in a positive way. This part also covers sexual aides such as dildos and piercings to assist in sexual desire. You can also learn on how to enlarge a penis and how to shrink and enlarge the size of the vulva in a woman. The Kama Sutra is a many splendor thing. It is fascinating that this wondrous tool has been around for so long and it is still one of the most popular marital aides still being used today.

The Kama Sutra has sixty-four arts or sixty four sexual positions. Vatsyayana had the theory that there were eight ways to make love and if you multiplied these by the eight positions within each of these, then you ended up with the sixty-four arts. There is only 20 percent of the Kama Sutra devoted to the sexual positions as the rest of the book teaches how to be a good person and helps men and women in their relationships. Kama Sutra is perhaps one of the best selling sexual aides of all time and is still a best seller today. Vatsyayana was either ahead of his time or just perhaps very in tune with people needs and desires, either way he is still helping couples learn how to explore their sexual desire and helping couples overcome their sexual problems. Couples all over the world still turn to the Kama Sutra to explore new adventures with their partners.
