The word Rei means universal and this is the definition most have accepted. The kanji ideograms have many levels of meaning. The word Rei as it is used in Reiki is more accurately interpreted to mean supernatural knowledge or spiritual consciousness. This is the wisdom that comes from God or the Higher Self. Its all about the process of mind.

Ki — The Life Force

Ki means the same as Chi(soul) in Chinese, Prana(soul) in Sanskrit and Ti or Ki in Hawaiian. Ki is the life force(soul), the force we have with our soul. It is also called the vital life force or the universal life force. This is the nonphysical energy that animates all living things. As long as something is alive, it has life force(soul) circulating through it and surrounding it; when it dies, the life force departs. Ki is used by martial artists in their physical training and mental development. It is used in meditative breathing exercises called Pranayama, and by the shamans of all cultures for divination, psychic awareness, manifestation and healing.

Is Reiki a Religion?

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. its about our soul and mind.  It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.

How Does Reiki Work?

Reiki_2We are alive because life force is flowing through us, through our mind through our soul. Life force flows within the physical body though pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body. The life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings. It becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves. These negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field and cause a disruption in the flow of life force. This diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body.

Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. In so doing, Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.

What is Reiki & Who Can Learn It?

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

Ancient Origins

Speculation based on knowledge of other ancient healing systems has led to a plausible hypothesis that may shed some light on the pre-Usui origins of Reiki. There is a Tibetan Buddhist healing technique called the Medicine Buddha. It involves the laying-on of hands similar to Reiki. The ability to do Medicine Buddha healing is transmitted to the student through an empowerment given by the teacher similar to a Reiki attunement. There are other spiritual lineage’s in Tibetan Buddhism involving the transmission of ability or value through empowerments. Since Tibetan Buddhism is the only form of Buddhism that uses empowerments, it is likely that the Reiki Dr. Usui rediscovered was formerly a Tibetan technique that had been lost.

Can Anyone Learn Reiki?

The ability to learn Reiki is not dependent on intellectual capacity, nor does one have to be able to meditate. It does not take years of practice. It is simply passed on from the teacher to the student. As soon as this happens, one has and can do Reiki. Because of this, it is easily learned by anyone.

The Attunement

The Reiki attunement is a powerful spiritual experience. The attunement energies are channeled into the student through the Reiki Master. The process is guided by the Rei or God-consciousness and makes adjustments in the process depending on the needs of each student. The attunement is also attended by Reiki guides and other spiritual beings who help implement the process. Many report having mystical experiences involving personal messages, healings, visions, and past life experiences.

The attunement can also increase psychic sensitivity. Students often report experiences involving: opening of the third eye, increased intuitive awareness, and other psychic abilities after receiving a Reiki attunement.

Once you have received a Reiki attunement, you will have Reiki for the remainder of your life. It does not wear off and you can never lose it. While one attunement is all you need for each level to be attuned to that level, additional attunements bring benefit. Experimentation has found that additional attunements of the same level add to the value of that level. These benefits include refinement of the Reiki energy one is channeling, increased strength of the energy, healing of personal problems, clarity of mind, increased psychic sensitivity, and a raised level of consciousness.

Growing with Reiki

Reiki_3Once you have learned a healing technique for your mind and soul, the work begins. To develop your understanding of, and sensitivity in, Reiki it is a good idea to devote time to regular practice, find a supportive teacher and practice group and pursue continuing study. Make sure that you arrange circumstances so that you can be nurtured in your healing and growth in regard of your mind and soul. Keep your eyes on your goals, your mind in your heart and take things one step at a time.

7 Commandments of Hindu Marriage Saptapadi

In Hindu Vedic religion, according to the Hindu Sanatan tradition, the seven steps ceremony, being called as Saptapadi, has a great significance in wedding ceremonies. Now a days its importance can be known with the fact that with having performed the seven steps or Saptapadi, everybody comes to believe that the bride and the bride-groom have been tied with the sacred knot of the marriage, irrespective of whether other related rituals are taken care of or not. According to the Hindu Sanatan Vedic religion, the seven steps or Saptapadi ceremony, in modern age, is performed in two ways. Some people revolve seven times around the fire and some have seven steps forward. That is to say, of all the seven Hymns or Mantras of the Saptapadi as mentioned in the religious books, the each step is moved forward with each hymn.

Fire is the evidence of Sun God and is the visible Energy of Universal Energy. Hindus according to Vedas worship both Surya Dev and Agni Dev. Fire is the form of Sun God and the Fire God as per Hindu Vedic rituals becomes the witness to the Holy Bondage between the Man and Woman. It is a very pious ceremony of Hindus and all the Mantras are recited in Sanskrit the great Hindu Vedic Language and explained to the marrying couple in today’s simple speaking languages .

In the Hindu Sanatan Vedic religion the prime object of the wedding or marriage is that the young soul-mates should, treating the God and the society as a witness, produce children and educate them for the family, the society, the country and the world so that the cycle of creation could run uninterruptedly.

It also includes that after the marriage, the soul-mates should be completely dedicated to each other and they should remain inseparable till old age, living with their able progeny or descendants. If the basic aims and objects of the marriage as envisaged in the Vedic religion are adopted and the pledges and resolutions taken at the time of wedding ceremony are followed in full spirits, in the modern times, the human society may become free of various diseases and problems, and ultimately lead towards the climax of the humanity.

The ‘Seven Steps’ in a wedding ceremony means that the object for which the bridegroom and the bride are going to enter into wed-lock or a new relationship is to be complied with by both of them sacrosanctly and for this, both take seven types of pledges with the determination that they will absolutely follow these pledges and resolutions in their married life after the wedding ceremony.

These pledges are as follows:-

The First step:

Moving their one step forward, the bridegroom and the bride take the first pledge. The bridegroom says that – we will not let shortage of cereals / food grains come forth. And before this, the pledges that had been taken by the bride and bridegroom are repeated by the bridegroom asking the bride to comply with them in letter and spirit. They say that “We both will produce noble progeny / offspring and up till our old age i.e. till we die, would live with our progeny.

In the ‘first step’ much importance has been given to cereals / food grains as the most required thing is married life is cereals or foodstuffs. This is because the main source to get the vigour (Semen) is Cereals only.

After this, the six hymns (Mantras) follow and there is a change of only one word in all of them. The remaining part is the same as is in the first Hymn or Mantra – reproduced as “Before this, the pledges that had been taken by the bride and bridegroom are uttered by the bridegroom asking the bride to comply with them in toto – that – we both would give birth to noble children and would live with our descendants till we breath our last”. This has been repeated in all the hymns.

Second Step:

The bridegroom says to the bride that we would collectively earn and hoard all necessary things for our physical needs in the married life. And before this seven step, the pledges taken by the soul-mates are spoken by the bridegroom asking the bride to absolutely comply with them that we both…….. Would live together with our progeny till we go to heaven”. To lead a married life conveniently, worldly materials and resources are also too essential. This is why the soul-mates take a pledge to reasonably and justifiably store up those worldly materials so that the journey of life remains smooth.

Third Step:

In the third step the bridegroom and the bride pledge that they will hoard money to lead their life happily, and the pledge taken by them before this step is again spoken by the bridegroom asking the bride to strictly adhere to the pledges and that we both………. Would live together throughout our lives till we breathe our last.

As a matter of fact, wealth is unavoidably essential to fulfil all the desires in married life. Hence, for accomplishment of all the cravings in the marital life, the soul-mates take a pledge in the third step to reasonably hoard wealth (money) for fulfillment of longings.

Fourth Step:

The bridegroom and the bride firmly resolve to live happily throughout the life. If everything is available in the life, but for real happiness, the life becomes hell as worldly resources can not buy inner happiness. This is why the bridegroom and the bride take a pledge to live a happy life, and for this they pray to God.

We often see in our modern society that despite possessing all materialistic resources and riches, they are unhappy and perplexed. Not only this, the pungency in mutual relationships provokes wife or husband even to get the life – partner kidnapped or killed. Sometimes, one of the duo is forced to commit suicide due to cruelty shown by the other. We have so many instances of the ladies belonging to rich families committing suicides by jumping off the roofs of hotels or high-rise buildings because wife and husband have a tense relationship and there is no sense of happiness between the two.

Fifth Step:

In the fifth step, the bridegroom and the bride take a pledge to live together during both pleasures and woes or sufferings.

It is a well-known fact that the claim of whole creation or universe is running on the basis of two contradictory elements like day and night. If the day is full of light and creativity, the night has darkness all along. But a man can shed lights even in darkness of night. Similarly, we should know that both sorrow and happiness are parts of life and if we succeed in maintaining our self-restraint, patience and fortitude, the sorrow, woes and misfortunes may transform to happiness, pleasures and riches like a beam of kindled in the dark of night. On the contrary, people generally get too perturbed with the woes and sufferings to understand the real happiness in the guise of sorrow. The bridegroom and the bride, therefore, take a pledge in the fifth step to live together in moments of riches and happiness as well as misfortunes and grief.

Sixth Step:

The bridegroom and the bride take a pledge in the sixth step that both of us will live conforming ourselves with the weather – cycle. The sixth step carries with it a comprehensive sense to elaborate that there are six weather – cycles in a year coming after one – another that cause different types of fruits, flowers and food grains to grow or produce in conformity with the weather cycle. Likewise, the human life also has its own weather – cycle which extends from infancy to old age.

The weather cycles of life such as youth to advanced adult age and from advanced adult age to old age are necessarily to come in life like the weather cycles of the nature and the soul-mates, therefore, take this pledge to mould themselves in line with these weather-cycles of life.

Seventh Step:

In the Seventh step, the bridegroom and the bride going to tie the marital knot take pledge to lead their life as intimate friends. It is true that no relation is as great as friendship. That is why the bridegroom and the bride resolve to lead their married life as great friends so that they should consult each other about all the important things and take a collective decision in all circumstances. Probably, except in the vedic religion, taking such pledges or resolutions on the occasion of wedding ceremony might be the rarest of rare in other sects societies or communities of the world. In fact, the Sanatan Vedic religion has endorsed the supremacy of the rights to women, calling her as a close friend.

This is not to exaggerate that the human society of today may completely get rid of all the agonies prevailing in married life by following these resolutions and pledges, letter and spirit. Then, this life can reach the pinnacle of heavenly pleasures.

Many men and women from around the world come to India to tie their nots as per the Hindu Vedic Marriage as they also believe that this is the most pious way to have a permanant marriage full of bliss and blessings of The GOD full of Great Family and Lovely Boys and Girls as Children with Universal Abundance and Affluuence .

This site can help any couple who desires a most auspicious wedding as per the greatest Hindu Vedic Rituals full of GOD ‘ S mantras and The GOD himself as the Witness to the whole ceremony .
